Program Director
Lisa brings many years of small business leadership, management, and teaching experience to our team. Lisa comes from a background in both education and finance. Lisa is the founder of a Montessori preschool in Central Oregon and has an intimate understanding of the ins and outs of the child care industry. Lisa is an Oregon Master Trainer, Grantwriter, and an Instructor and Advisor with the SBDC, and is passionate about helping child care providers achieve their goals.
Adriana Lopez
Spanish Bilingual Admin Analyst/ Business Coach
Adriana is an entrepreneur based out of Portland, OR. She is Nicaraguan American, first generation and the first in her family to receive a bachelor’s degree. She graduated from California State University with a degree in Business Administration. Adriana lives and breathes entrepreneurship. Her goal at OCCA is to help others through their journey and provide a supportive hand to all those she meets.
On her free time, she is usually reading, traveling somewhere by herself, painting, exploring nature with her camera or spending time with her lively pups; Brodie, the grumpy chiweenie and Brie, the silly rottweiler/pitbull she just rescued.

Heidi has lived in Central Oregon for over 20 years and believes that a child’s success in life is directly related to their early years. She feels fortunate to work with the Oregon Child Care Alliance and support providers’ businesses with sound financial advice and time saving processes so they can spend more time with nurturing the children they’ve been entrusted with. Heidi has been working in the finance for 20 years and finds this is the most important and meaningful work she’s done.

At the Oregon Child Care Alliance Danielle supports our team as a Program Coordinator and Business Navigator. Danielle’s approach with her clients is centered around building trusting relationships to promote a journey of self-discovery allowing space for the exploration of a teacher’s core values, behaviors, beliefs, and ways of being to move forward in cultivating a connection with children, families, and the community.

Julia brings experience in Elementary Education, Business Management, and Bilingual skills to assist our Child Care Provider Community in Tillamook, Columbia and Clatsop Counties. Her goal is to build effective communication with Child Care Providers, and a strong trustable business relationship to work together to overcome challenges facing business owners. Her family has lived in the Tillamook Community for 13 years. They enjoy camping, hiking, road trips, and multiple sports with their children.

Spanish Bilingual Child Care Business Instructor/Advisor, OCCA
The Oregon Child Care Alliance is excited to announce the rollout of a Business Launch Course for preschool and child care programs in Spanish!
Join a team passionate about helping early childhood educators in Oregon. The Bilingual Small Business Instructor/Advisor will teach a 12-week business course, using curriculum that has already been developed in partnership with the SBDC. The instructor will also provide business guidance to providers as they move through the course to help them open or expand their child care business. The goal of this project is to help launch and expand child care and early education programs throughout the state and add more child care slots to communities. By achieving this goal, we are helping to strengthen small businesses, support local economies, and help child care providers to earn a living wage.
The Spanish business course will run once per quarter, and the instructor will receive training and support on teaching this course. This instructor will also assist in the translation of course material from English to Spanish. We ask that native Spanish speakers apply. This 12-week business course is for new and newly open (less than 2 years) in-home child care program owners across Oregon. Each course participant will be eligible to receive a $3000 start-up grant upon completion of the course.
This position will be primarily remote and computer based, although some travel to different counties within Oregon will be required. Must have car and valid drivers license and must live in Oregon. This position requires working one evening per week.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Supports family child care providers who participate in the Oregon Child Care Alliance through coaching and leading business trainings.
- Helps programs gain business acumen to enhance business practices, knowledge, and skills to manage their business.
- Utilizes previously developed training and develops new training to present monthly workshops on topics including, but not limited to, the use of data management software, business practices, recordkeeping, business planning, accessing capital, setting rates, and budgeting.
- Seeks out knowledge of local and state wide financial resources available to small businesses and guides child care programs to these resources and through application processes
- Builds relationships within the community to ensure strong support for local providers.
- Partners with multiple community partners to support strong business practices
- Attends professional development trainings and events as appropriate.
- Basic data entry required for grant reporting
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, accounting, business management, adult education, early childhood education or related field.
- Three (3) years of child care, business, or non-profit experience
- Demonstrated experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion practices into teaching and coaching methods
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business administration
- Ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage time
- Ability to work varied hours including some evenings and weekends to meet scheduling demands of early learning professionals
- Ability to independently perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities
- Ability to use equipment necessary to carry out job responsibilities such as, but not limited to, computer software, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Powerpoint.
- Ability to create ongoing trusting relationships with early education programs to develop the most conducive environment for learning and reflection.
- Ability to implement effective techniques for adult learning
